It was OSU (Oslo S Utvikling) who stood for the building of the first apartments in Bjørvika. In total, there will be 1200 apartments in Bjørvika, with 400 apartments OperaKvarteret as the first phase.
OperaKvarteret will be a living centre in Oslo around the clock with a blend of business and pleasure. Almost 20 % of the construction in OperaKvarteret is reserved for residential purposes with a potential of being the new home for more than 2000 people. There will be approximately 380 apartments in OperaKvarteret, and right now, OSU (Oslo S Utvikling) is in the process of deciding on the positioning, design and details for the various apartments. Our main goal is to develop living for the future.
OperaKvarteret will consist of exciting and innovative architecture, adapted to its cosmopolitan location. The apartments will either be situated on top of office buildings, in purely residential buildings, or as a part of a city block.

The first apartments in OperaKvarteret were finished during spring 2010. At the same time, the new submerged tunnel opened for traffic and the area of Bjørvika already appears rejuvenated.
